GALLERY HOUSE RULES
At Gallery, you’re encouraged to build the business of your dreams while contributing to a professional, positive and respectful environment for everyone around you.
MAINTAIN YOUR ENVIRONMENT
KEEP IT CLEAN
Let’s sparkle and shine together! Our dedicated cleaners work hard every day to keep everything clean and sparkling, but we greatly appreciate it if the community can help keep it tidy throughout the day. Your efforts to tidy up after yourself make a big difference. You see hair in the hallway? Maybe give it a quick wipe. A client left a glass of water in the common area? Let’s place it in the dishwasher. A clean environment creates a great first impression for your clients, ensuring they feel welcome and comfortable during their spa experience.
It is not allowed to leave anything in the hallways such as boxes, (bin) bags, furniture, vehicles such as bikes and more! Hallways, entrances and community spaces are considered fire escape routes and must not be (partially) blocked at any time. Any unattended materials in the hallways, community spaces, bathrooms, or laundry rooms will be removed and disposed of immediately. Any expenses incurred for removing items will be added to the following invoice of the responsible person. Please make use of the bins provided to dispose of your garbage.
Good to know: We have hoovers and mops available for everyone to use; and we perform monthly deep cleanings in all common spaces.
LAUNDRY ROOM
Let’s get ready to tumble! We have both washing machines and dryers on location for you to use, please follow the guidelines posted on the wall to ensure smooth usage for everyone. Remember to collect your laundry promptly so others can also use the machines. Please also help with keeping the laundry room organized and functional by cleaning up any mess you make and placing baskets on the racks provided
(tip: the top of the machines is not a good spot).
Very important: To help keep the machines in good shape and functional and avoid fires, please check the filters of the dryers and remove any dust or fluff before each wash. A quick clean works wonders and effectively helps everyone’s cleaning process.
Accidentally took someone else’s towels? Please return it to the lost & found basket. Your neighbors will thank you for it!
SHARED KITCHEN
Enjoy your lunch in our community kitchen, equipped with a microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. The common fridge is limited in space and intended for day use. Please be mindful of others and always clean up after yourself. Is the dishwasher full? Please turn it on! Is it clean? Please empty it!
Also, when heating up food, please be considerate of strong or lingering smells as they can affect others. A little mindfulness goes a long way in keeping our shared space pleasant for everyone.
Good to know: The fridge will be deep cleaned and emptied every 1st of the month.
FURRY FRIENDS.
We love dogs! At Gallery however, pets aren’t welcome as we serve many beauty salons that depend on their GGD license to operate their business.
Does your client need to bring a pet, like a service or assistance dog? Get in touch with your community manager 72 hours prior to their visit.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS
MEET YOUR NEIGHBORS
Our Gallery Community is made of incredible entrepreneurs and business owners like yourself. We learn from, inspire, support and celebrate with each other. Next time you see your neighbor, say hi!
KEEP IT SAFE
For safety, all clients must check in through the digital system before entering Gallery. Visits are by appointment only. Please stay aware of your surroundings and let us know if you see anything unusual.
NOISE POLICY
To help maintain a peaceful environment for everyone, please keep noise levels in the hallways to a minimum and close your studio door during conversations. This supports salon owners who need a quiet space for focused treatments or a relaxing atmosphere for their clients. For lively conversations, whether in person or on the phone, please use our community spaces or step outside.
MUSIC TO MY EARS
You can absolutely play background music anytime to set the right mood, but please check with your neighbors that it’s not too loud.
Please note it’s not possible to connect your own Wi-Fi music system (such as Sonos) to the Gallery network, use Bluetooth or cabled connection instead.
SUPERVISING MINORS
While we love kids at home, Gallery is not a suitable playground and not safe for minors. If a client brings a minor, they MUST be supervised by an adult at all times. Ideally, clients visit your salon alone to fully enjoy a well-deserved spa moment with you without interruptions.
DECORATING YOUR DREAM STUDIO
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
We know how exciting it is to personalize your studio! If you need to make some noise, please do so before 10:00 AM to keep your neighbors happy. For any major adjustments to your studio’s installations, like ventilation pipes or lighting, please contact your community manager first and please note that certain elements cannot be altered.
Avoid hanging anything from the pipes. Electricity sockets are for standard household appliances and only CE-certified devices can be used; if you need to use professional equipment with a higher ampere, contact your community manager. Do not adjust, change, drill, or influence installations like water, piping, drainage, ventilation, flooring, ceiling, or electricity without our prior written approval.
Adding extra lights to create the perfect atmosphere such as work light or a hip neon wall light? That sounds beautiful! Just remember to always turn off all lights and machinery when you leave the studio. This not only helps save energy and keeps costs down, but also prevents short circuits and potential fire & safety hazards. If any lights or machines are left on in your absence, our Gallery staff may need to turn them off for you.
Good to know: When the time comes to move out, it is important to return the studio back to its original state.
WINDOW ADVERTISEMENT
We provide your first logo on your front door for free. Any other stickers, banners, or signage on the glass or outward-facing areas are not allowed; this also includes flyers in shared spaces. This ensures no brand or salon becomes overly prominent within our locations.
CURTAIN POLICY
At Gallery, we deeply value the unique atmosphere and ambiance that define our salon community. This environment is not only a reflection of our brand but also contributes significantly to the experience of all salon owners and their clients. That’s why we have specific guidelines on the addition of curtains to your studio, ensuring that while personalization and privacy are respected, the collective charm and openness of our spaces are maintained. Find an explanation below. Please always check with your community manager if curtains are possible in your studio before installing any curtains.
- Spaces with Outside Windows: In spaces with direct daylight and external views, such as our outside spaces, curtains are not permitted. This ensures that all spaces maintain access to natural light and external views.
- Hallway Spaces (Inside Spaces): In our inside beauty spaces, facing the hallway, you are allowed to hang curtains. These spaces offer more flexibility for privacy and controlling light within your space. However, we ask that you keep the curtains open when not attending to clients, to maintain the typical open and inviting atmosphere of Gallery. Exceptions may apply based on studio location and community rules. Always check with your community manager for specific guidelines.
If curtains are important for your studio setup, we recommend choosing one of our inside spaces. These are specifically designed to accommodate your needs for privacy, while still respecting the shared environment and aesthetic of Gallery.
Is your business laser or health related? Then please refer to the section about “Laser Treatment Guidelines”.
MEMBERSHIP ESSENTIALS
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE REGISTRATION
With a full-time membership, the Member Company can register a visiting address at the Chamber of Commerce and make use of the mail cabinet (at your own risk). Are you using a flex membership? You can’t register or use the mail cabinet, but if you’d like to upgrade to a full-time membership, please contact your Community Manager.
GROWING YOUR TEAM
Amazing work! If you would like an extra team member to join you, please contact your community manager first. Gallery makes no distinction between employees, interns, or someone just helping out for a day every now and then. We must meet them in person and be informed before they access the location. It is not permitted to give access to our premises to non-registered individuals without our permission. Registering any additional team member is essential for maintaining a safe and pleasant environment for everyone in our community, as well as for insurance purposes.
Your membership is tailored to you personally and when available, an additional membership can be created for your business.
Good to know: this usually incurs a small additional membership fees.
Do you want to invite a guest artist (for example a tattoo artist) to your studio who will not visit the studio more than 5 days every 3 months? In this case it might not be necessary to add an extra membership. Please inquire with your community manager 72h prior for the possibilities.
NEW PARENT POLICY
Becoming a parent is a life changing event, if it’s for the first, second or fifth time. During these life-changing moments, Gallery wants to be there for you and support your business. Get in touch with your Community Manager for more information.
CLEANERS
Would you like to hire a cleaner to clean your studio? We would like to meet the cleaner before they start, so we know who we’ll encounter in the hallway. The cleaner can receive their own keycard and key for €30 (excluding VAT), or just a key for €15. The cleaner should look presentable and tidy, wearing identifiable clothing such as a vest or name tag with the logo of their cleaning company or your salon. Cleaning can take place daily during our regular opening hours (08:00-22:00). The cleaner must always come alone; for instance, bringing an accompanying child, pets or relatives is not allowed due to the negative experiences we’ve had in the past. If a new or substitute cleaner visits, we would like to meet this person in advance as well, and we’ll transfer the keycard and key onto their name. It is not allowed to give any cleaner (or anyone else) access to the premises without our prior written consent.
HOSTING EVENTS & GIVING TRAINING
Absolutely YES! Hosting and attending training sessions are what keep our industry thriving. And when it’s time to celebrate and cheer on your new business, let’s pop the bottles!

INVOICES & PAYMENTS
It’s all in your Gallery app. Navigate to the menu to find your invoices and update your payment methods. If you need help in updating your payment method or have any questions, please reach out to your community manager. Please remember that your monthly agreement fee is due on the 1st of each month and any late payments might incur a late payment fee.
TREATMENT GUIDELINES & RESTRICTIONS
While we encourage a diverse range of beauty services at Gallery, we prioritize the health, safety, and comfort of all members and their clients.
Please note that treatments which produce significant smoke or fumes, such as keratin treatments, are not permitted. These treatments can release potentially harmful fumes and disturbing odors, impacting other salons and their clients. Also, they risk activating smoke detectors and sprinkler systems. If in doubt about a treatment’s compliance, consult your community manager.
LASER TREATMENT GUIDELINES
Laser treatments are becoming increasingly popular in beauty and wellness services. At Gallery, we support the integration of such innovative treatments while ensuring the utmost safety and privacy for both practitioners and clients. To conduct laser treatments in your studio, the following conditions must be met:
Laser treatments are permitted under specific conditions for safety and privacy:
- Privacy Compliance: Such treatments are allowed only in fully private salons. Windows must be covered with safety foil, provided and installed by Gallery and all doors must be sealed with a drop sill. Any costs made for the installation of foil and/or drop sills may be invoiced to your business.
- Professional Qualifications: Only trained and certified professionals may conduct laser treatments.
- Equipment Safety: All laser equipment must meet industry safety standards.
- Manager Approval: Prior to starting laser treatments, approval from your community manager is required, along with arrangements for window foil and drop sills installations.
These guidelines ensure a safe, professional environment for all Gallery services.
BUILDING OPERATIONS
ACCESSIBILITY
Gallery is open daily from 08:00 until 22:00 all weekdays including local holidays. For your safety, the front door will close earlier in the evening for entry at 20:30pm, but you can always exit, and enter with your Gallery Card, Salto app or Openr app (depending on your Gallery location). Want to work earlier or later? You can! Simply contact your community manager 72h in advance for access. If we can, we’ll make it happen!
There might be exceptional times when we need to close the location for regular maintenance to keep the building in top shape. Your community manager will inform you timely so you can manage your appointments accordingly.
Your privacy is of utmost importance, and we absolutely respect your space, which only you (and your team members) have access to. However, occasionally Gallery might need to enter your studio in your absence in situations when there is a potential risk or hazard which needs urgent attention, for our regularly scheduled window cleanings, or to place a package or gift inside your studio. Rest assured, we will of course notify you whenever your studio is accessed.
EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
Fire evacuation routes are posted throughout the building, and first aid kits are available in common areas. For emergencies like large leaks, power or internet outages, or disruptive situations affecting your business, contact our emergency line at +31 85 047 8883.
In case of personal danger or fire, call 112 immediately!
Good to know: Forgetting your key at home is not considered an emergency situation. We’ll be able to assist you on the next workday from 9:00am CET (Monday to Friday).
LOSS OR DAMAGES?
It’s super frustrating when something gets lost or broken! We urge you to keep your belongings safe. Gallery does not assume responsibility for any loss or damage to your property. Please report any breakages promptly so we can quickly address them.
If there is a leakage in the studio or any electrical issues, our facilities team will engage one of our contractors to ensure that all standards are properly met. Depending on the (root cause of the) situation, this may be at the expense of the member company.
GARBAGE DISPOSAL
General Waste: Please dispose of general waste in securely closed bags to keep bins tidy and prevent any unpleasant messes.
Paper Waste: Kindly fold all boxes before placing them in the garbage area to maximize space in the bins and reduce noise, ensuring a peaceful environment for everyone.
Community Bins: Community bins are intended for smaller trash only. Please place larger bags directly in the designated bins in the garbage area. For furniture or large items, reach out to the community team for assistance.
MAIL & PACKAGES
You can receive mail at your own risk in the mail and package delivery area. Please pick up timely. Occasionally, we might place packages inside your studio to keep the package room clear and organized.
NO SMOKING POLICY
Smoking is not permitted on location; this also includes vaping and e-cigarettes. Kindly use the designated areas outside the building. Please do not smoke outside the front entrance and please be aware of non-smoking signs around you as smoking in these areas may disturb building neighbors.
PARKING
In the city center it isn’t easy to find a parking spot and it’s hardly ever free. The tram and metro stop are only minutes away from our building, which is why we always recommend using public transport or bike!
Good to know: Bikes, scooters or any other vehicles must be stored outside of Gallery locations.
